After robots take all employment

I think this daily expense account is more realistic than a basic income to provide for the basic welfare of the unemployed in a fully automated economy. It is also helpful to illustrate how dismal this state of affairs will be. The expense account is a daily ration, and a cot in a shelter. But the shelter will have plenty of available virtual-reality head consoles.

Economy of compensated opinions in a dedomenocracy

The original title for this post was to talk about balkanized data. In contrast to big data, balkanized data stays sealed and protected at the source. The large-scale analytics or policy making needs to engage with specific transactions with data owners to obtain the data they need for each specific analysis they are performing. This type of economy denies the centralized corporations or government access to volunteered release of bulk source data. Instead the centralized entities need to negotiate terms for each transaction. The terms will describe precisely what they want so the source can deliver the most appropriate answer. That negotiation will involve a monetary exchange with amounts proportional to the eagerness of the requester for that data. The result is the creation of a new economy analogous to intellectual property but where the property is simply personal data. Data is property. Owners will soon wise up about giving it away for free.

Dedomenocracy’s nemesis: the innovative criminal

Even including super-intelligent machines into the concept of dedomenocracy, there will remain the present-day complaint that the government needs to get lucky every day but the criminal human needs to get lucky only once. This problem will remain long after we replace democracy with dedomenocracy. The most dangerous criminal is the non-criminal who immediately acts on his newly discovered hypothesis. Even superhuman intelligent dedomenocracy may not be able to discover this hypothesis first.

Internal conflict consequences of parallel governments of operations and debt service

Because the governments are distinct and have distinct voting populations, I expect there to be conflicts between the two governments. Such conflicts will be similar to international conflicts but with major differences. The two governments have interspersed populations living in same geographic territories making physical conflict unlikely. For example, in extended families that young and old voters may live in the same house. Also, the two governments are not peers in conflict like nations would be. The operational government would have full control over all of the police and military. Although the government of debt obligations lacks an army, it controls access to new debts needed to finance the provisioning or deployment of forces. In the abstract, there is nothing stopping the armed operational government from conquering the obligation-servicing part of the government.

Imagining parallel economies divided by age cohorts

In this imagined economy, the notion of retirement will change fundamentally. Instead of defining retirement as an ideal of a life of leisure to strive for by working as long as possible, retirement is a transition from the young population to the old population. The older population may continue working indefinitely but no longer under long-term employment arrangement. The work will be short duration contracts that may require frequent retraining to prepare for future work.

Dedomenocratic party response to raising the minimum wage: abolish the minimum wage

Unlike established businesses, labor costs for start-ups is much larger portion of their expenses. With current minimum wage laws, the labor costs are prohibitively expensive for most start-up opportunities requiring a team of people. A suspension of the minimum wage law would allow us to collect real data about this potential for new job creation within the country based on opportunities available in this modern age of modern technologies and infrastructure.

Modern era of longer lifespans exposes fatal flaw of democracy: the need to disenfranchise the old

Assuming that a democracy is strongest when the demographics of the eligible voters are younger, we can redefine the eligibility for voting rights from the current eligibility to all adults to a new eligibility of all young adults. In other words, we need disenfranchise adults after they reach a certain age. This mimics what nature did for us in the 19th century. Older adults will continue to enjoy long lifespans and pension-like benefits. They will lose the opportunity to vote after a certain age.

Truth as a confounding variable that interferes with interpreting data

Dedomenocracy is a scaled up version of modern data science practice using big data predictive analytics to automate decision making. As a data science project, there is a need to evaluate the data in terms of how closely it represents a fresh unambiguous observation of the real world at a specific time instead of a reproduction of a past observation through model-generated dark data. Darker data involves some level of contamination with historic observations or with our interpretation of past observations. The problem with darker data is that its use of old and potentially outdated data can discount more recent observations that can tell us something new and unexpected about the current circumstances of the world.

Nanoseconds don’t listen to milliseconds

For example, someone desiring to cure a cancer may want to get into the intervals where proteins and DNA operate in order to negotiate with those entities to stop doing something that is having some drastic effects on the being living in longer intervals. A path to curing cancer could be to convince the bio-chemical processes to reform their activities. However, to get to enter this conversation, the curer would have to live life at the far faster pace of proteins and DNA. That conversation will have to proceed within the environment of the distractions and concerns of those proteins and DNA. The curer would become another protein or DNA. He may have an additional distraction of proving himself to not be foreign material that normally should be destroyed. Entering that world will present the curer with need to survive at that level instead of needing to survive at the human experience level. The curer will more likely be convinced by the story tellers to continue telling the same story in order to survive, than to convince that population to reform in order to save some distant concept of the body as a whole.
