Revolving doors are locked: employees wanted but not welcomed

About the workers who are declining the new opportunities. Ultimately, they may be seeing these opportunities for what they really are. These are opportunities to torment their hearts. They have to wear masks and stay distant from customers. They are not allowed to experience the serving of crowds, let alone the larger opportunities for tips or wages. They would be entering an empty workspace that clearly is optimal being more crowded.

Consequence of flattening the curve

This trend of upsetting the normal arrangements will continue. While this is happening there will be more shortages. Supply chains will dwindle due to government restrictions and due to the lack of labor. The supplies that are delivered will have inflated costs due to high demand or due to the need to pay for the higher labor costs. The ultimate result is high inflation.

Raising the minimum productivity

Mandating an increased minimum hourly rate simultaneously demands a increased productivity. Wages have a tendency of making work when work is not needed or before that work is better performed in order to sustain the worker’s hourly productivity. Also, the wages discourages the practice of pre-emptive learning or just waiting around for when the precise skills are absolutely needed.

Life in automated world

The assumption is that the initial condition of the fully automated economy and government is ideal in terms of a modern middle-class experience for everyone with a guaranteed income and free entertainment. It can only get worse from there. Humans offer nothing to improve the future of the automation. Inevitably, they will segregate into groups. Those groups will strive for improvements of their condition where their best opportunity is at the expense of other groups. The automation will adapt.
